An all-Filipino squad just reached the world finals

Five Filipino players have booked their place at the biggest tournament in esports. On June 23, the all-Filipino roster of OG Esports won the Southeast Asia qualifier, beating Team Grind Back to clinch a slot at The International 2026, Dota 2's world championship in Shanghai. They won nine of their eleven matches and ended a four-year absence from the sport's grandest stage. The group stage opens in August.

Iwas-Scam

A fake "OWWA Scholarship 2026 to 2027" Facebook group, using OWWA's logo, is pushing phishing "registration" links that harvest your IDs, selfies, and passport, and even promise a fake P20,000 monthly allowance. OWWA says it is not affiliated. Never hand your documents to a Facebook "registration" link, pay no fees, and verify anything through the OWWA hotline 1348.
