You find an overseas job advertisement. The agency name appears in a DMW search, and a matching job order turns up. Can you apply now? Not necessarily. Those are useful checks, but they answer different questions from whether the agency is accepting applicants for that exact role today.
Before collecting documents or travelling to an office, separate three things: the agency's current license status, the matching approved job order, and the current vacancy. Here is a practical way to check each without treating a screenshot as the whole answer.
1. Check the agency, not just its name
Use DMW's Licensed Recruitment Agencies search to check the agency's current status, registered address and official contact numbers. DMW describes these checks in its published verification guidance. A familiar business name in a social post does not tell you who is answering the messages.
Compare the advertisement with the official record. If the name, address or contact route differs, ask the agency through the listed channel to explain the difference. Keep that question separate from whether the advertised role is available.
2. Match the job order to the advertisement
Check Approved Job Orders for the jobsite, agency and position. Compare the employer or principal and destination with the advertisement. A different role or employer is a mismatch to resolve, not a close-enough result.
DMW's published job-order guidance warns that listed vacancies may already have qualified applicants. It tells readers to verify with the agency whether the order remains active. Finding a record is therefore a useful checkpoint, not a promise of an available place.
3. Ask whether this vacancy is open now
Contact the agency through the route you checked. Ask about the exact position, employer and country, not simply whether it is hiring. Request the current requirements and application instructions in writing. A dated, specific reply is more useful for planning than another copy of the advertisement.
Write those three details at the top of your inquiry. If someone replies about a different role, bring the conversation back to the one you checked. You are confirming a specific application route, not joining an unspecified hiring list.

Turn the reply into a decision
If the agency confirms applications are open, compare the written requirements with your experience before assembling the requested file. If the reply is vague, ask the unanswered question again. An active order and a message saying the role is closed can coexist; do not treat the older advertisement as the final answer.
Keep a simple record: the advertisement link, exact agency name, role, employer, country, date checked and written response. You can reuse that checklist for another opportunity without mixing details from two different jobs.
If the lookup will not load
An error screen is not evidence that an agency or job order does not exist. Retry the official service, or use DMW's published verification guidance for assistance contacts.
