YOUR OFW FLIGHT CHECK · OFFICIAL DMW ROUTE

Bottom line: flying back to work? Check your DMW record before you pack. Returning workers can access the OFW Travel Pass through eGovPH. Compare the employer and jobsite with your current contract, then follow any verification or update instructions shown.

Your next step depends on the live result: a Travel Pass, a record update or review, or another DMW clearance route. Keep the resulting document or confirmation available for your trip. Use the official service, not a seller offering to arrange it through chat.

WHAT TO DO NOW

Run this check before you pack

  1. Open eGovPH, then choose NGA → DMW → Balik-Manggagawa → Travel Pass.

  2. Match your employer, destination country, jobsite, position, passport, and active contract.

  3. Check the pass issue date, expiry date, and QR status. Save an offline copy for your own use.

  4. If the app says update, review, or appointment, follow that official route early.

  5. If DMW issues a different clearance or OEC, read the dates and conditions on that record instead of applying an old rule from memory.

Privacy: never send this publication your passport, contract, pass number, password, or one-time code.

2 minutes. Your URL. A customer profile worth using.

Most founders can describe their product. They can't describe their customer. Not in a way that actually changes how they sell.

HubSpot for Startups built a free tool to fix that. Paste in your URL, answer a few quick questions, and it generates a structured profile of your best-fit customer. Firmographics, buying triggers, the works.

Takes 2 minutes. No spreadsheet required.

YOUR RESULT

Three routes the screen may show

  • Travel Pass available: the system recognizes the active returning-worker record. Check the 90-day window and QR status.

  • Update or review: an expired or changed contract, employer, jobsite, destination, or worker category needs attention.

  • Another DMW route or OEC: follow the live instruction and use the dates printed in that official record.

A screenshot from an earlier trip is not proof that today’s record is active. The live DMW result for your own account controls the next step.

THE 90-DAY CHECK

Travel Pass: use the live QR status

DMW’s implementation advisory states that the OFW Travel Pass is valid for 90 days from issuance. It can be voided or renewed, and its QR record uses status colors: gray for not generated or voided, green for active, blue for used, amber for expiring, and red for expired.

Read the actual issue and expiry dates. If the app status and your travel plan do not agree, stop and ask DMW or the Migrant Workers Office serving your jobsite before buying a replacement service from anyone.

DO NOT USE A GENERIC OEC NUMBER

If DMW issues an OEC, read that document’s dates

Older POEA Advisory 77 says an OEC is valid for 60 days and one use for the employer and jobsite shown. The newer 2023 DMW land-based rules distinguish 60 days for initial deployment and 90 days for rehires. Those records cover different situations.

Because the returning-worker route is moving through the Travel Pass system, do not force every case into one number. Use the issuance and expiry shown in the live DMW record. Confirm any mismatch before departure, and never count from the day you downloaded or printed a copy.

MATCH THESE DETAILS

Five fields to compare before departure

  • Identity: full name, birth details, passport number, and passport validity.

  • Employer: the same legal employer shown in the verified contract.

  • Worksite: jobsite and destination country, not just the airport route.

  • Employment: position and active contract status.

  • Travel record: issue date, expiry date, QR status, and any prior use.

Do not edit a screenshot to make mismatched details look correct. Ask DMW which source record must be updated and keep the official response with your travel documents.

SAFETY CHECK

Travel clearance does not prove the contract is safe

A Travel Pass, OEC, or exemption supports departure processing. It does not guarantee that the salary, employer finances, recruitment promises, insurance, or destination rules are safe. If the employer, jobsite, position, or compensation changed, resolve that difference through the official channel before flying.

Keep verified contract and emergency contacts available offline. Avoid search ads, look-alike government sites, fixers, and anyone asking for passwords or one-time codes. DMW’s main website is dmw.gov.ph.
