Magandang araw, kabayan. Today's issue is a proud one. A Filipina just made tennis history at Wimbledon, free AI courses are open for returning OFWs, and three verified jobs are ready for applications.

In today's issue
A historic first: Alex Eala beat the defending champion and became the first Filipino to reach the Wimbledon fourth round.
Free AI training: DMW and TESDA launched free AI and data courses for returning OFWs, with registration ongoing at DMW regional offices.
3 jobs to check: Two remote PH-friendly roles and one DMW-licensed Singapore nursing job, all re-verified before this issue went out.
Scam watch: Two recruiters were arrested in Manila after collecting over ₱300,000 for Poland jobs that did not exist.
Win of the Day
No. 28 Alex Eala's new career-high world ranking after her historic Wimbledon run.

Eala beat the Wimbledon champion, and the ranking is now permanent

Alex Eala became the first Filipino player to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon. On July 4 she defeated defending champion Iga Swiatek 7-6(9), 6-2 on Wimbledon grass. The run ended three days later against Jasmine Paolini on Centre Court, but the record book does not reset: first Filipino in the last 16 of the Championships, and a new career-high ranking of world No. 28.

Why it matters  Every first like this resets what Filipino kids believe is possible, on a tennis court or anywhere else.

Opportunities This Week
Training

Free AI courses for returning OFWs are open now. DMW and TESDA launched the expanded K2K program: a Data Collection and Annotation (AI and data science) Level II course plus Amazon Web Services certifications in Generative AI and Machine Learning foundations, with job facilitation built in. Registration is ongoing in select DMW regional offices. Read the K2K details ->

Skills

Digital literacy is the base layer for every AI course. TESDA's online 21st Century Skills track includes self-paced digital literacy courses. They are free, run on a phone, and you can start one tonight before any bigger training decision. Open the digital literacy courses ->

Safety

Two recruiters arrested over fake Poland jobs. A June 30 DMW entrapment operation in Manila caught two recruiters who collected more than ₱300,000 in processing fees for factory and welder jobs that did not exist, and the unlicensed agency office was closed. Before any payment, verify the agency license and the approved job order directly with DMW.

Verified Apply Links

Stay safe: legitimate overseas jobs are DMW-licensed. Verify any agency at dmw.gov.ph and never pay a placement fee upfront. No license, no deal.

Everyday Wins

Practice looks boring until it becomes history. Eala hit thousands of practice serves nobody watched before one week everybody did. Whatever you are building, today's unglamorous rep is the real win.

Quick Hits
Family move: if a relative is talking to a recruiter, ask for the agency name and check the license on dmw.gov.ph before anything is paid or signed.
Application move: tailor the first sentence of your application to the exact role. Recruiters skim the opening line first.
Pride move: show a kid in your family the Eala highlights tonight. Let them see what daily practice buys.

Salamat for reading, kabayan. Today's small move: start one free digital literacy module tonight, then send one application.
