What We Cannot Help With

To set appropriate expectations, please understand that we cannot provide:

Individual Legal Advice

We are not lawyers and cannot provide legal advice for specific situations. If you’re facing a legal issue related to your employment contract, visa status, or workplace dispute, you need to consult with a qualified attorney who can review your specific circumstances.

Many Philippine embassies and consulates offer legal assistance to nationals abroad. Several NGOs also provide free or low-cost legal services to OFWs facing problems. We can point you toward these resources, but we cannot replace professional legal counsel.

Job Placement or Recruitment Services

OFWJobs.org is an information resource, not a recruitment agency. We do not place workers in jobs, arrange employment, or connect job seekers with employers. Any individual or organization claiming to recruit on behalf of OFWJobs.org is fraudulent.

If you’re seeking employment abroad, please work with licensed recruitment agencies registered with POEA or apply directly through official government programs.

Visa Processing or Documentation Services

We cannot process visas, authenticate documents, or expedite government requirements. All official processes must be completed through appropriate government channels.

We can explain how these processes work and what requirements you need to meet, but we cannot complete them on your behalf or provide shortcuts around official procedures.

Emergency Assistance

If you’re experiencing an emergency situation while abroad, including medical emergencies, safety threats, illegal detention, or abuse, please contact:

Philippine Emergency Hotlines:

  • Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in your country
  • Philippine Embassy or Consulate nearest to you
  • OWWA Hotline: +632 8891-7601
  • DFA Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs: +632 8834-4000

OFWJobs.org is not equipped to provide emergency response services. In urgent situations, contact official government services immediately.

Financial Assistance

We do not provide loans, financial assistance, or monetary support. We are an information resource, not a financial service provider.

If you need financial assistance, OWWA offers various support programs for qualified members. Contact OWWA directly to learn about available assistance programs.

Media professionals seeking interviews, expert commentary, or information about OFWJobs.org should email privacy@ofwjobs.org with “Media Inquiry” in the subject line.

Please include:

  • Your name and media organization
  • The topic or story you’re working on

Social Media and Other Platforms

While email and phone are our primary contact methods, we’re expanding our presence on various platforms to better serve the OFW community. Check back for updates about our social media channels and additional ways to connect with us.

When we establish official social media accounts, we’ll announce them on this page and our website. Please be cautious of any accounts claiming to represent OFWJobs.org that are not listed on our official website, as they may be unauthorized or fraudulent.

Website Security Issues

If you discover a security vulnerability on our website, please report it to us responsibly by emailing privacy@ofwjobs.org with “Security Issue” in the subject line. Please do not publicly disclose the vulnerability until we’ve had a chance to address it.

Inaccurate Content

If you believe any information on our site is incorrect, outdated, or misleading, please let us know. Include the specific article or page, the information you believe is incorrect, and if possible, a reliable source showing the correct information.

Offensive or Inappropriate Comments

If you encounter offensive, abusive, or inappropriate comments on our site, please report them to us. We strive to maintain a respectful community environment.

Business Hours and Holidays

Our office operates on Philippine time and observes Philippine public holidays. During these times, response times may be longer:

Regular Business Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PHT)

Closed: Weekends and Philippine public holidays

We do check messages outside business hours and may respond during evenings or weekends, but please don’t expect immediate responses during these times.

Location and Service Area

OFWJobs.org operates as a digital resource serving Filipinos worldwide. We do not maintain physical offices open to the public, and all communications are handled via email or phone.

Our content serves Overseas Filipino Workers regardless of where they’re working or where they’re from in the Philippines. Whether you’re in the Middle East, Asia, North America, Europe, or anywhere else, our information resources are designed to serve you.

Your Feedback Matters

Every message we receive helps us understand what the OFW community needs. Your questions tell us what information is missing or unclear. Your suggestions guide our content development priorities. Your feedback helps us improve how we present information.

Even if we cannot provide an individual response to your specific question, please know that your input contributes to making OFWJobs.org a better resource for everyone. We genuinely appreciate everyone who takes time to reach out.

A Note About Response Limitations

We want to be honest about our limitations. OFWJobs.org is run by a small team dedicated to serving the OFW community, but we have limited capacity to provide individualized assistance. This means:

  • We may not be able to answer questions that require extensive legal research
  • We cannot provide advice that depends on reviewing documents or specific contracts
  • We cannot investigate individual cases of employer misconduct or agency fraud
  • We cannot intervene in disputes between workers and employers or agencies
  • We cannot provide financial advice tailored to individual situations

What we can do is point you toward the resources, organizations, and government agencies equipped to help with specific situations. We can provide general information and guidance. We can explain how systems and processes work. We can help you understand your options and where to seek appropriate assistance.

We’re working to expand our capacity to serve the community better, but for now, we appreciate your understanding of these limitations.

We’re continuously working to improve how we serve the OFW community. This includes exploring additional ways for you to connect with us and access support.
